Job Description
    The purpose of this position is to analyse and critque the Bank's actual performance against interest income targets and to forecast future interest income.

    The key outcomes contributed by this position are to:

  •         Provide analysis of the expected performance of the Bank's interest bearing assets and liabilities
  •         Investigate variances in the Bank's actual performance against forecast and budget and provide critical commentary explaining the differences.
  •         Analyse the effect of a change in interest rates and/or a change in the portfolio structure to the Bank's profitability
  •         Financially model the Bank's historical and forecast balance sheet/profitability
  •         Develop and maintain historical financial data and apply this data to mitigate risks in the balance sheet
  •         Assist with development of the Bank's funds transfer pricing models and metrics.
  •         Identify possible areas for improvement where applicable for all aspects of the role and undertake steps to implement the enhancements.

Required Skills:
  •         Effective communication to all levels of management.
  •         Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  •          High level of general mathematical ability.
  •         Advanced spread sheeting and financial modelling ability.
  •         Understanding the mathematical principles underlying the valuation of financial products.
  •         Ability to meet deadlines.
  •         Ability to critically analyse processes and suggest areas for improvement.
  •         Ability to work in a team and individually
  •         Ability to understand and resolve complex issues.
  •         Studying towards or completed CFA

    
Required Experience:
  •         Training or a background in finance or accounting is required.
  •         Experience in Banking especially Non-Trade Market risk role would be ideal.
  •         Knowledge of SQL, Access or QRM would be advantageous
