The successful applicant will provide efficient and effective administrative support to Manager Radio National and the Network.

Job Requirements:
•  Appropriate educational qualifications and/or relevant experience.
•  Demonstrated high level writing, grammar and research skills, including the ability to analyse information and draw conclusions.
•  Knowledge and experience with relevant ABC administrative policies and procedures (eg. HR, Finance and Procurement) and Windows-based computer systems and ABC software applications.
•  Demonstrated administrative and organisational skills including capacity to prioritise to effectively manage workflow and output with an aptitude for accuracy and attention to detail.
•  Capacity to work autonomously in a time critical environment, exercising tact, discretion and independent judgement, at times with minimal supervision.
•  Proven ability to work effectively as an integral and positive member of a team.
•  Well-developed interpersonal and presentation skills, clear communicator with strong interpersonal skills to deal with internal and external stakeholders at every level.
•  An understanding of, and commitment to, the ABC's aims, objectives and workplace values, together with relevant policies and guidelines including Editorial Policies, Equity and Diversity and Work Health & Safety.

Job Duties:
•  Provide high level administrative assistance and support to Manager Radio National.
•  Manage the day to day operations of the Manager's office to facilitate the smooth running of the Network.
•  Act as first point of contact for both internal and external enquiries to the Manager to ensure clear information flow, dealing to finality matters not requiring the attention of Manager RN
•  Critically appraise incoming mail, proposals, enquiries, papers and correspondence to determine priorities, prepare responses and undertake necessary action within relevant policy and timeframes as appropriate
•  Assist Manager in dealing with emails through development and maintenance of robust office systems.
•  Organise Manager's diary with particular reference to meetings and task lists to maintain work flow.
•  Make travel arrangements for the Manager to meet the needs of the office whilst complying with travel policies.
•  Purchase office supplies, catering, subscriptions, etc as required for the office of Manager RN
•  Provide administrative support to assist the smooth running of the Network:
•  Develop and maintain office and filing systems to enable efficient tracking and retrieval of information, including maintaining the database for audience complaints.
•  Answer the overflow of listener enquiries and take listener calls in the absence of the Listener Enquiries Officer.
•  Develop and maintain systems for the efficient handling and recording of corporate paperwork (including staff engagement; leave; Free & Discounted proposals; and external work) and Board papers and reports to meet relevant deadlines.
•  Arrange appointments and meetings, prepare associated agendas/related correspondence, take minutes, prepare and distribute to relevant parties as required.
•  Provide back up support to the Unit Managers and take on elements of their workload as required.
•  Manage the administrative aspects of presenter contracts in conjunction with the Lead Unit Manager.
•  Develop and maintain up-to-date Performance Management records for the Network.
•  Oversee the work experience program for the Network.
•  Undertake support of annual and one-off network projects as required, including the administration of the Boyer Lectures.
•  Maintain effective communication with Radio National staff, internal departments and Radio Management offices, ensuring deadlines are met.
•  Actively model and promote the ABC Values and apply all relevant policies and guidelines including Editorial Policies, Equity & Diversity and Work, Health & Safety
