Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced community co-ordinator for the digital education team. You are energetic and experienced communicator with a background in education journalism, social media and community engagement. The community co-ordinator will be the key to champion, promote and engage the diverse audience of Australian teachers, students and parents with new and exciting educational resources.
Reporting to the Project Director, the Community Co-ordinator will be responsible for building the ABC Splash community, key communications and editorial including the weekly newsletter, articles for parents and teachers, social media engagement, audience feedback and supporting ABC Splash events.
This is a part-time or full time position; days and working hours are subject to negotiation.

Job Requirement:
•  Have demonstrated experience in Social Media / Online community management and the ability to grow audiences and product awareness.
•  Have demonstrated editorial experience and track record in writing to deadlines for different audiences.
•  Have demonstrated experience of and/or passion and knowledge of schools' education in Australia.
•  Have outstanding organisational skills to assist with the general co-ordination and administration support related to ABC Splash community engagement.
•  An understanding of and commitment to the ABC's aims, objectives and workplace values, together with relevant policies and guidelines including Editorial Policies, Equity & Diversity and Work Health & Safety.

Job Duties:
•  Managing the social media activities of ABC Splash (manage comments, sm engagement, moderate fora etc.) and developing a social media strategy in conjunction with key stakeholders.
•  Increasing engagement with teachers, students and parents via external and internal social media platforms.
•  Writing and editing community newsletters, articles for teachers and parents.
•  Managing community, including management of audience feedback, general enquiries, site comments and user generated content.
•  Actively promote the ABC values and apply all relevant policies and guidelines including Editorial Policies, Equity & Diversity and Work Health & Safety.
