ABC Radio seeks an Editor to lead a small team of digital content makers and work with content makers to execute the digital content strategy for Radio National Online. Responsibilities include the curation of content on abc.net.au/radionational and distribute it across ABC and external platforms including social media and mobile devices in order to increase user interactivity, build audiences and enhance engagement with Radio National.

Job Requirement:
•  High level interpersonal and motivational skills, proven experience in multiplatform production, with very strong editorial skills and judgement
•  Relevant educational qualifications and knowledge of RN output and/or broadcast industry an advantage.
•  Comprehensive knowledge of digital content production and ability to maximise distribution of content to relevant platforms and networks.
•  Proven ability to lead a team and inspire content makers, with specific ability to guide others in multiplatform production.
•  Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and effectively within and outside of a team environment.
•  Strong knowledge of the ABC's purpose and place in the media environment. Knowledge and understanding of social media networks.
•  Superior organisational and communication skills and ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
•  An understanding of and commitment to the ABC's aims, objectives and workplace values, together with relevant policies and guidelines including Editorial Policies, Equity & Diversity and Work Health & Safety.

Job Duties:
•  Under general direction from the Manager, Multiplatform Content and the Radio National leadership group, lead the strategic planning and delivery of multiplatform content for Radio National's digital presences.
•  Strong editorial skills including the ability to source and analyse complex information and exercise sound judgement in relation to RN programming and multiplatform content. Curate RN homepage and other network curations utilising excellent editorial, visual and writing skills.
•  Ability to maximise distribution of program makers' content to relevant platforms including social media networks. Knowledge of ABC Radio networks and online platforms and ability to liaise with staff across divisions to provide optimal distribution of content.
•  Lead a small but dynamic team of digital content makers to produce engaging digital content of a high standard, participating in RN Editorial Groups.
•  Work with designers, developers and the marketing team to effectively showcase RN content across digital platforms and foster positive internal and external stakeholder relationships.
•  Develop and maintain content style guides, train staff, create and manage workflows, generate user activity reports, supervise production and perform management tasks.
•  Maintain a high-level awareness of digital industry developments and audience trends and actively contribute to a creative, innovative, culture of excellence within the immediate team, and the wider ABC.
•  Actively promote the ABC values and apply all relevant policies and guidelines including Editorial Policies, Equity & Diversity and Work Health & Safety.
