Job Description:
Macquarie Bank - Banking and Financial Services Group (BFS) is dedicated to the distribution of financial services via financial advisers, intermediaries and directly to individuals. The BFS Group is seeking a Project Manager to join the Product & Projects team for the Macquarie Cards business. Reporting into the Program Manager, you will be primarily responsible for the delivery of a key stream on a major acquisition / integration program for the Macquarie Credit Card business.
Job Requirements:
- Project Management experience across all phases of the software development life cycle
- Hands-on track record of successfully delivering projects with budgets in the order of $1+ million
- Financial Services experience
- Experience in payment industry and credit card product knowledge and involvement with credit card system delivery is highly regarded;
The following professional skills are required:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (project management, finance, economics or similar) highly regarded
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor communications to both business and IT staff at all levels from senior executive to professional level
- Ability to run effective meetings and ensure that all parties reach consensus
- Proven ability to lead a team
- Proven experience in stakeholder management, including both business and IT, and up to senior executive management
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise these effectively
- Working to a deadline and handling pressure
- Strong problem solving aptitude
- An enthusiastic and inquisitive nature with an attention to detail
- Demonstrate dedication by taking ownership of tasks which may not always fit the core job specification
- Demonstrate creativity and an ability to consider the big picture
- Ability to effectively communicate a point of view and obtain the support / buy in of key stakeholders;
- Ability to interact with vendors and partners at all levels;
- Ability to manage priorities and demonstrate perseverance in overcoming obstacles;

- Excellent negotiation, communication and relationship skills.
Job Duties:
- Defining and managing your stream's activities including assisting to define business requirements, functional scope, process and system impact analysis, resource planning, financials, governance models, etc
- Managing initiatives end-to-end from the proposal / concept phase to implementation across the business as well as IT for new product, channel and white label credit card projects
- Project management activities including progress management, risk and issues management, resource tracking, financial tracking, stakeholder management, and associated status reporting
- Working closely with IT to ensure the systems solution is in line with business needs and strategic growth
- Ability to get involved in the detail where required to ensure project delivery commitments are made
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of project management practices in the team, including mentoring team members, and creation and use of tools to assist project management
- Interface with business partners to ensure program delivery is adequately planned, developed and implemented;
- Provide relevant project reporting to both internal and external stakeholders.
