Job Description:
The Banking and Financial Services Group (BFS) is dedicated to the distribution of financial services via financial advisers and directly to individuals. The Group offers wealth-creation solutions including cash management, full service stockbroking, financial planning, private banking and structured products and alternate assets.
Banking and Financial Services Group is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join the Wrap Solutions team within Wealth Product & Platforms (P&P). Wealth Product & Projects within the Banking and Financial Services Group of Macquarie Bank manages relationships with external financial intermediaries and provides sales service, product manufacture and management of in-house and external products. This includes Cash, Mortgages, Retail Superannuation, Wealth Platforms (including Macquarie Wrap and Trading).
Due to the continued growth of the platform businesses, an opportunity exists for a self motivated Senior Business Analyst to join the well established and successful team. The projects delivered by the team will enhance the platform to drive growth in new client segments and meet the growing needs of the existing client base.
Job Requirements:
- Have a minimum 5 years experience as a Senior Business Analyst within a Banking or Financial Services company
- Have previous exposure to resource planning and budget management, team development, mentoring and championing team capabilities
- Have experience in taking the lead and actively encouraging and implementing ideas for continuous improvement of requirement gathering processes
- Have the ability to provide analysis plans and estimates (including high level and detailed estimates)
- Have proven time management and planning abilities which allow you to identify task dependencies / critical paths and determine appropriate milestones
- Risk management experience including effective escalation and follow up
- Be confident and competent in oral and written communication
- Possess solid analytical and problem solving abilities as well as strong attention to detail
- Have a high level of accountability and the ability to drive successful outcomes as a self motivated individual
- Have a solid understanding of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Possess the ability to work in a methodical manner and accept accountability and ownership of tasks
- Possess the ability to hit the ground running and work with minimal supervision
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with ever-changing priorities
- Be commercial and strategic in approach, possessing an understanding of relevant operational and business drivers
- Possess the following characteristics: flexible, enthusiastic, a positive attitude, approachable and friendly, competent, professional, proactive
- Possessing the following would also be advantageous:
- Previous experience with Wrap platforms
- Superannuation and Wealth product knowledge
- Previous exposure to trading systems / platforms and financial instruments
Job Duties:
- Initiate and foster strong relationships with colleagues and senior business stakeholders (product, sales, marketing, risk, operations, IT areas, and external vendors where required)
- Take the project from initiation / analysis to implementation, supporting the project manager in planning the project phases
- Identify key analysis tasks and engage necessary stakeholders and other business analysts as required
- Document findings / requirements in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders
- Map current and target business processes, highlighting gaps and inefficiencies
- Facilitate and co-ordinate requirements workshops and run working groups
- Work on multiple projects at any given time if required
- Provide stakeholder updates on project progress where required
- Create and maintain logs to document issues, benefits and impacts, enabling assessment and prioritisation by stakeholders
- Provide input into the direction of new initiatives and strategic goals
