Job Description:

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced individual to join our Bendigo branch as a Customer Service / Administrative Officer.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will be a team player with a “hands on” approach and a “can do” attitude. You will demonstrate a willingness to operate in a professional and efficient manner, providing internal customer service and administrative support to the branch including the external sales team regarding all relevant market, customer and competitor information.

Job Duties:

  •     Assisting with the preparation of sale reports to maximise sales opportunities
  •     Providing accurate and timely order status information to customers
  •     Cash processing Ensuring integrity of confidential and/or sensitive information
  •     Performing reception, banking and purchasing
  •     Overseeing all mailing functions including couriers
  •     Monitor and confirm production orders
  •     Providing general office support
  •     Operating in a cooperative and positive manner with other team members so as to assist in the achievement of the common business objectives

This is a challenging position where your high attention to detail, time management and excellent communication skills will be required to successfully manage a busy workload.

Previous steel or relevant industry and customer service experience is essential to this role. In addition a solid work history in providing high level administrative support within an operational environment is also required.

You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills in addition to strong numeracy, negotiation and influencing ability. This will be further supplemented by your commercial acumen, organisational agility and intermediate computer skills.

Whilst relevant business / marketing / administration qualifications would be viewed favourably they are not essential.
