This is a versatile role that carries full ownership to partner closely with the Commercial Insurance (CI) Sales Channels to work to continually improve channel performance through monitoring, analysis and advisory on the CI Distribution financial performance. Your value add will be your continuous identification of new financial trends, issues and areas for the business to focus on assist the business in achieving their goals and targets. Essential to your success will be superb interpersonal skills and your ability to build strong relationships as you will become the trusted advisor and primary relationship point for the CI Distribution Channel Managers.
Job Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in Finance / Accounting / Business
- CA/CPA/ACCA/CIMA qualification
- 3+ years of proven proficiency in management accounting and reporting
- 5+ years of work experience in the Financial Services industry, insurance exposure will be highly advantageous
- Understanding of Commercial Insurance business desired
- Senior stakeholder management experience
- Excellent ability to develop deep relationships with customers and peers
- Advance analytical skills – ability to identify trends, irregularities and insights
- Strong attention to detail
- Superior verbal and written communication skills with ability to articulate assumptions, impacts and actions through commentary
- Ability to problem solve independently or as part of a team e.g. workshop participation
- Ability to think & plan strategically & to add value to the financial management of the business
- Advanced Excel and Cognos skills
- Financial modelling capability
Job Duties:
Advisory
- Advise and support Distribution Executive General Manager (EGM) and Channel Managers on financials and direction of the sales performance
- Establishment of strong working relationships across multiple business functions
- Manage the delivery schedule balancing constraints with business priorities and ensuring appropriate segment and product alignment consistencies
Financial:
- Maintenance of channel performance management and reporting structure upwards (EGMs, CI CFO, CI CEO, Group CEO, Board) and across (Channel Owners and Portfolio Managers)
- Interpretation and support of channel transactional sales performance
- Provide commercial projection of operational changes
- Management of channel budgets, forecasts and financial contextual advise and positioning in conjunction with CI Advisory Business Service Information Delivery & Advice
- Design, implementation and management of effective frameworks/systems for decision making purposes
- Trend analysis, insight and recommendations
- Develop, recommend and execute financial strategies in response to business performance
Reporting:
- Provide regular and ad hoc business and executive contextual commentary
- Provide contextual financial insight commentary for Distribution and Sales performance dashboards
