The Banking Business Resilience team is a critical part of the Banking Operations & Support division.  As a Risk Specialist, your role is to act as subject matter expert in relation to Operational Risk, Controls, Business Continuity and Supply Chain Management including implementing risk strategies and initiatives to improve risk culture and capability maturity.

Reporting directly to the Business Resilience Advisor, this is a unique risk management role and fantastic opportunity to gain exposure and provide complex Operational Risk and Business Continuity Management advisory across business critical banking operations and external suppliers. This will involve extensive consultation and engagement with a range of key internal and external stakeholders and incorporate activities such as risk profiling and reporting, supplier site operational assessments, facilitating training/coaching sessions and process change management advisory and implementation.

Job Requirements:
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate a broad commercial focus with strong business acumen and knowledge (Financial Services/Banking preferred) that can be applied in introducing and enhancing operational risk techniques and business continuity management across  Banking Operations. Equally important are exceptional relationship management and communication skills that will be essential to engage effectively with key stakeholders to senior level. 

Job Duties:
  •     Business related Degree qualifications in related field ideal with formal Risk Industry and BCI accreditation preferred
  •     Ideally c 5 + years experience in operational risk management or business operations in Financial Services/Banking Operations
  •     In-depth understanding of business continuity and operational risks, drivers, tools, frameworks and controls within the Financial Services/Banking industry
  •     Outstanding relationship management skills with proven ability to gain buy in from stakeholders to senior level including business managers and senior leaders, external professionals and suppliers
  •     Highly developed communications skills with the ability to disseminate information and provide high quality written interpretation including trend analysis, reporting and escalation management
  •     Proactive, self-motivated team player with the ability to drive outcomes and initiatives
