The Risk Management Group is an independent, centralised unit responsible for assessing and monitoring risks across the Group. The Compliance Division within Macquarie's Risk Management Group provides compliance support and advice to Macquarie's operating businesses. Compliance staff are aligned with Macquarie's operating businesses, assisting those businesses globally to manage their compliance risks. These, together with a strong, committed team are key drivers of Macquarie's success.
The Risk Management Group (RMG) is an independent, centralised unit responsible for assessing and monitoring risks across Macquarie. This includes market and liquidity risk, credit risk, compliance risk and operational risk. RMG personnel liaise closely with all operating areas to ensure risks are understood and properly managed.
Job Description:
Sitting within Macquarie Bank's Compliance Division, the AML Assurance team work across all business units to assess performance in meeting our core regulatory obligations and act as an effective second line of defence in Macquarie's risk management framework. Through thematic Compliance reviews, the AML Assurance team identify areas for improvement with the aim of assisting the business in meeting Macquarie's regulatory obligations.
Primary Internal Relationships:
• Central and Business-aligned Compliance teams
• MOD and various Operations staff and senior management
• MOT ITG Staff and senior management
• Operational Risk Staff and BORMs.
Job Requirements:
• Tertiary qualifications in law, commerce or business is highly regarded, but not mandatory
• experience in and knowledge of AML/CTF & Sanctions obligations
• demonstrated audit or assurance background is highly regarded
• experience gained within an investment bank or financial services institution in an operational or client on-boarding team is highly regarded
• sound written and verbal communication skills to liaise with stakeholders across the Macquarie
• good interpersonal skills
• ability to work independently and as part of a team
• ability to work to deadlines whilst maintaining a high degree of accuracy and quality
• ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
• keen attention to detail as well as an ability to view the bigger picture
• strong commitment to continuous improvement
Job Duties:
• Conduct reviews of Macquarie's AML/CTF & Sanctions obligations both within Australia and globally.
• Assist with preparation for external and internal audit reviews.
• Communicate the results of reviews out to senior management.
• Identify efficiencies and drive initiatives to achieve greater compliance and business oriented results.
