Since 2001, Strategic Marine has exported its shipbuilding experience and expertise by establishing three shipyards in Western Australia, Singapore and Vietnam which currently employ some 1,500 staff.
Job Description:
Reporting to the Group Business Development Manager in Singapore, the BDM for Defence will be responsible for and take leadership of all defencerelated business development activity internationally including meeting sales objectives set by sales & marketing and the executive team in conjunction with the strategic road map and business plan.
The employee will be accountable for developing and maintaining relationships with all levels of the international defence supply chain; ensure regional sale's agents are performing against their agreed contracts; assist with overall tendering process; initiate and coordinate development of strategic action plans to penetrate new markets.
Job Requirements:
• Defence experience, preferably marine related (specifically the Australian, SE Asian, Middle Eastern or African theatres)
• Highly motivated
• 5 years minimum experience in sales and business development
• Proven ability to work independently
• English speaking
• Contract management and tendering experience essential
• Excellent presentation skills
• Strong industry knowledge
• Strong negotiator
• Willingness to travel
• Ability to relate and communicate with varying cultures, attitudes and chain of commands
