The heart of our operations is in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, spanning from Port Hedland, across our heavy haul railway to our mines at Cloudbreak, Christmas Creek and Solomon. In only a decade we've built one of Australia's leading resource companies.
We began shipping iron-ore to our customers in Asia in 2008 and since then we have exported more than 240 million tonnes. In 2013, we'll open on fourth berth at Port Hedland and our 40 million tonnes per annum Kings Mine at Solomon, allowing us to reach our target of 155 million tonnes per annum.
This is an exciting time to join the Fortescue team as we consolidate our position as one of the world's largest iron-ore producers.
We are currently seeking a Mine Services Manager at our Cloudbreak Operation. Reporting to the General Manager this key leadership position will be responsible for ensuring that the Mine Services department runs in a safe, cost effective and proficient manner to achieve all set safety, production, and cost targets.
To be successful in this role you will need to have:
• Experience in implementation and improvement of Asset Management systems
• Continuous improvement and change management experience in a diverse & dynamic environment
• Planning, scheduling and organisational skills
• Strong conceptual and analytical skills with the ability to problem solve complex situations
• Decisiveness and strong decision making capacity
• The ability to lead, engage and influence people at all levels of the business whilst promoting the Fortescue values and culture
• A rigid focus on safety
• Knowledge of the production process
• The ability to work under pressure
• A trade or engineering background with tertiary qualifications
• To be successful in this role you will have excellent interpersonal skills & the ability to effectively communicate at all levels. You will be a results orientated individual with experience in leading a large department in an innovative environment. We are looking for a focussed self-starter, who is driven to upholding the highest HSE standards and Zero harm practices.
