Job Description:
An opportunity currently exists within the Merchandise team for a dynamic and innovative Buying Manager for our Retail Furniture offer based at East Bentleigh, Victoria.
Reporting directly to the Merchandise Business Manager Furniture (or National Merchandise Manager the primary purpose of this role is to influence and support the Retail Furniture strategy, ensuring a compelling offer is delivered.
Job Requirements:
- · Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Commerce, or Economics (preferred but not essential)
- · Extensive experience within a buying environment, preferably with direct sourcing exposure on a national and international basis
- · A working knowledge and understanding of the furniture industry and products
- · Superior understanding of emerging trends and best practice supply sources
- · Innovative with a keen eye for detail, whilst working in a team that drives continuous improvement
- · Ability to drive action through effective leadership
- · Commercial acumen with the ability to interpret and act on market trends
- · Excellent communication, strong influencing and negotiation skills
Job Duties:
- · Drive innovation through new products and services
- · Implement new exciting initiatives as approved by the Executive team
- · Coaching and development of the Buying team
- · Accountable for the development of the promotional program
- · Influence the Marketing program to create a unique proposition
- · Accountable for the delivery of key financial metrics of sales, margin and stock turn budgets
- · Develop strong relationship with suppliers
