The Role
Orica currently has a unique opportunity for a Maintenance Technician to become part of the Port Hedland Manufacturing Plant.
As the Maintenance Technician, you will provide front line electrical maintenance of the AN Operations facility with the responsibility to maintain the performance of, and engineer improvements for, all electrical and mechanical equipment.
Responsibilities include:
• Ensuring the safe operation of the Ammonium Nitrate Operations area by demanding a compliance culture to standards, procedures and statutory requirements
• Providing breakdown, preventative and reactive maintenance to Nitrates plant and equipment. This will include; rotating machinery, conveyors & material handling equipment, condition monitoring, pumps, valves and piping, equipment overhauls and maintenance of the SAP management system.
• Achieving and improving on targets for plant uptime through implementation of planned maintenance, condition monitoring, and preventative maintenance routines.
• Assist with initiating and implementing minor capital projects to improve SH&E and plant reliability
• Assisting team in the development and implementation of continuous improvement plans, environment management plans, mechanical documentation, compliance auditing and contractor management where required.
Job Requirements:
• Electrical Trade Certificate (Industrial experience within Manufacturing preferred)
• Current WA Electrician licence
• Experience with plant shut downs, and instrumentation in chemical or medium engineering fields within a continuously operating environment
• Strong knowledge of various maintenance method and the ability to investigate problems, determine and implement root cause corrections
• Willingness to provide a current National Police Clearance
• Prior experience in FMCG, Chemical Manufacturing or food production environments will be highly regarded.
This position is FIFO (ex Perth only) on an 8/6 off roster. Relocation assistance will be offered to suitable candidates if not currently residing in Perth. Accommodation and meals will be provided while on site.
